One of the ways I decide whether or not a book makes it into the collection is to look at student reviews. I do rely on Goodreads as well as suggestions from students, but I found a site called Flamingnet.com that reviewed teen books using student reviewers. As a school librarian, not only was this resource valuable, but something that I wanted a group of students to do as well. Then along came the word, that Flamingnet would have a sister site, LitPick.com. I have not found out whether or not this site will eventually replace Flamingnet or not, but even if they had two sites, it would not be bad.
If you have not discovered this site, it is well worth the time and your students can get books to read and review. Enjoy!
